My vision, my entire practice of photography, is based on seeing deeply into the subject, the light and shadow, the mood, the composition, the essence of whatever it may be that I intend to photograph. By pre-visualizing all of these elements of the photograph I can begin to see the results in larger terms than simply what appears in the viewfinder.
